Importance of Programmatic Accreditation

The South Carolina Midlands EMS Management Association is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs ( upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).

Program Goals: To prepare competent entry-level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains with or without exit points at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Emergency Medical Technician, and/or Emergency Medical Responder levels.

2020 Information:

Course #  0105036 Course Code QQR7OO (letter “oh, not numeral zero)

Registration and orientation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019@ 9 am. Students that have been sponsored by services or made payment arrangements will be given initial books. A short session on drug calculation will be held and a homework assignment given for completion prior to January 6, 2020


Class will begin January 6, 2020—students should have assignments prior to class.

· Background Check information will be provided to students that did not attend registration session.

· Drug Testing is required of all students prior to clinical. Information will be provided for all students at registration.

· A copy of High School Diploma or GED must be on file with each student prior to starting class. SC graduates will be provided with an order form.


We will need for you to bring for your  file:

· Copy of your current state EMT-B or EMT-Advanced card

· Copy of your current CPR (HCP) card

· Proof of A&P completion

· Copy of HS Diploma or GED

· Drug Test Results if completed

· Copies of background checks. Information will be provided if copy is not available.


We will provide:

· Health form prior to starting clinicals (completed in prior 6 months).

· Confidentiality statement

· HIPPA agreement

· ADA agreement


Student transfer and Credit

Students wishing to enter the Paramedic Program for Midlands EMS may submit a request to the Program Director. Acceptance and credit given for previous course work is awarded on a case by case basis. The student transferring from one program to another must provide documentation from the other program that meets or exceeds the  school’s requirements. Students may only transfer from a program who is CAAHEP accredited or holds a valid COAEMSP Letter of Review (LoR). 

Experiential Learning Credit

Currently there is no credit given for experiential learning.
