Midlands EMS Regional Awards Criteria

Star of Life Award—This award is presented to a team (2 members typically) certified as EMT-B, EMT-I, or EMT-P in recognition of their exceptional professionalism in the field of emergency medical service, and acknowledges the special contributions of the prehospital professionals whose daily performance of their duties are an inspiration and example to others in the field of emergency medical service.  Nominations are limited to one (1) prehospital professional team per service.

 

Required Length of Service –Minimum one (1) year experience as an EMT-B, EMT-I or EMT-P. This requirement may be waived by narrative must include request for exception.

 

Award Criteria – The nominee(s) should demonstrate the following:  Positive attitude toward all aspects of the job, willingness to be a team player, professionalism and pride in quality of work, ability to earn and maintain the respect and high esteem of co-workers, flexibility in task assignments and capabilities, and job performance above and beyond the call of duty.

 

Service of the Year Award – This award is presented to the Emergency Medical Service that exemplifies outstanding professionalism, leadership and innovation to the community it serves, as well as to its region and state.  This may be demonstrated by its contribution to the advancement of EMS, including technology, management, public education and training of staff.

 

EMT of the Year – Presented to an EMT who has contributed most significantly to their service. 

 

Award Criteria – The nominee(s) should demonstrate the following:  Positive attitude toward all aspects of the job, willingness to be a team player, professionalism and pride in quality of work, ability to earn and maintain the respect and high esteem of co-workers, flexibility in task assignments and capabilities, and job performance above and beyond the call of duty. 

 

EMT-Intermediate of the Year – Presented to an EMT-Intermediate who has contributed most significantly to their service.

 

Award Criteria - The nominee(s) should demonstrate the following:  Positive attitude toward all aspects of the job, willingness to be a team player, professionalism and pride in quality of work, ability to earn and maintain the respect and high esteem of co-workers, flexibility in task assignments and capabilities, and job performance above and beyond the call of duty.

 

EMT-Paramedic of the Year – Presented to an EMT-Paramedic who has contributed most significantly to their service.

 

Award Criteria - The nominee(s) should demonstrate the following:  Positive attitude toward all aspects of the job, willingness to be a team player, professionalism and pride in quality of work, ability to earn and maintain the respect and high esteem of co-workers, flexibility in task assignments and capabilities, and job performance above and beyond the call of duty.

 

 

Nominations are due to the Midlands office by 5 pm Monday, November 18th, 2013.

 

Nominations may be mailed or faxed, but confirmation of receipt is strongly encouraged.
